Gallimard's Castle
The Gallimard's Castle, which became a state residence, was a real military fort built from the 13th century. Private castle, Not visitable.
This castle was built in two times in the thirteenth and seventeenth century. From the thirteenth to the fourteenth century, the Lord of Mézeyrac (from Puy en Velay), built a fortress. Only the machicolation remains of this period. Sold around 1650 to the Gallimard family of Genestelle, it was rebuilt in 1680. Transformed into a ceremonial residence, it is at this moment that it takes its current aspect of strong house. There is only one big inner courtyard. Building registered as Historic Monuments.
